Yes, the whales are back – actually still here – and on some days you will be able to spot between 30 to 70 in our bays!
The most common whales you will see are the humpbacks with a white (albino) calf about 5 years old now. The calf was born in our western bay and each year the same “white” calf returns to its born-address.
Very uncommon, we also see a killer whale passing our peninsula.
Whales, dolphins and other bigger sea creatures love the bays surrounding Shelley Point Peninsula as its very much protected from the open sea and here is the place that they will breed, calf and play and also come very close to the beach.
