The West Coast is also an important part of the Cape Fynbos Kingdom and 80 species are endemic to the West Coast. The best time for flowers is from the end of July till the end of September.
St Helena Bay - Beautiful flowers along the roads. Jogging trail alongside beautiful flowers along the road from Veldrif to Hopefield via the N7 back to Cape Town.

At St Helena Bay a variety of birds can be seen. Bench overlooking the tidalpool in ShelleyPoint with Swiftturns Bathing, walk amongst the black oyster catchers feeding on mussels.
The Berg River bird hide on an Island in the Berg River and in Veldrif. River boat trips can take you ou to the hide in the river.
A Dam at the West Coast Fossil Park attracts many bird species and a hide has been built.
Rocherpan Nature Reserve, is home to various species of birds.

Whales and dolphins cna be spotted along the West Coast 10 months of the year. The most ommon whales and dolpins in our area are the the Southern Right Whales and the Heavyside's Dolphins.
